Terms of Service
Introduction
My name is Aviv Blumstein, Sole Proprietor (VAT Registered), No. 203023957, known as “Mr. Japan”. I’m here to help you discover the wonders of Japan and share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained. This itinerary was created with care and dedication ❤️
The Service
-
The service I provide includes creating a personalized travel itinerary for Japan based on the selected package - Basic, Standard, or Advanced, and according to the information you have provided (including, among other things, your preferences, budget considerations, etc.). Depending on the selected package, I will also assist you with selecting and booking hotels, tours, attraction tickets, train tickets, and more.
-
The Basic package includes building an initial itinerary framework (a non-final daily travel plan), a 60-minute consultation that includes important information, answers to your questions, and adjustments based on your personal needs, as well as access to a dedicated user interface. The Standard package additionally includes booking of train tickets, selected workshops, and attractions. The Advanced package includes all of the above, as well as hotel bookings. For more details about the process, please click here.
-
During your stay in Japan, you will be granted access to a dedicated, convenient, and user-friendly interface containing relevant information for your trip, designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Access to the interface requires an internet connection and will be available for the duration of the trip only.
-
Upon completion of your full travel itinerary, you will receive access to the interface, which may include (if included in your itinerary): travel routes and points of interest, transportation details, dining recommendations, accommodation details (including names, ratings/standards, addresses, and contact numbers), information required for departure from your home country and entry into Japan (including passport validity, visa requirements, and any entry conditions set by Japanese authorities), information provided by Israeli authorities regarding travel risks (if applicable to Japan) or vaccination requirements, optional services that may be declined at the time of purchase, and, if payment is made in installments - applicable interest rates, calculation methods, and payment terms.
Important to Know
Your trip includes many elements and variables that are beyond my control and for which I cannot be held responsible, including:
-
Your personal satisfaction with Japan itself, its food, culture, customs, etc.
-
Communication difficulties due to language barriers and cultural differences.
-
Force majeure events, including but not limited to weather conditions, earthquakes, fires, floods, natural disasters, war, terrorism, outbreaks of disease (including COVID-19), strikes, shutdowns, etc.
-
Any act or service provided by third-party suppliers during your trip, whether booked through me or not (it is important to clarify that we are not responsible for services provided by such third parties).
-
Satisfaction with hotels, even if booked by or through me, including room size, cleanliness, view, and even the crispiness of your morning toast ☺
-
Crowding levels and availability of attractions (since Japan’s reopening after COVID-19, availability and opening hours have become more dynamic, and it is recommended to verify before visiting).
-
Arrival times and changes in public transportation. It is recommended to check transportation availability in real time during your trip.
-
Map/navigation services (accessible through the interface) are provided by third-party providers, and I am not responsible for the accuracy of their data. It is recommended to verify routes before departure.
-
Food allergies or sensitivities must be confirmed directly with the relevant business in Japan, even if the restaurant or hotel was recommended or booked through me.
-
As you know, there is a time difference between Japan and the U.S. I also sleep (sometimes) and may not always be available during nighttime hours.
-
I will do my best to provide services within a reasonable timeframe and according to agreed schedules. However, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond my control (including but not limited to workload, third-party supplier changes, weather conditions, local holidays, technical issues, or other force majeure events).
-
In any case where a booking is made by you (including but not limited to hotels, transportation, workshops, attractions, restaurants, etc.), whether included in the itinerary or recommended by me, I will not be responsible for its compatibility with the itinerary, its availability, quality, or any resulting outcome. Full responsibility for reviewing booking details, terms, and suitability lies with you (the client).
-
Some attractions, workshops, tours, restaurants, and other services included in the itinerary may require advance booking or depend on third-party availability. While I will do my best to assist with bookings (according to the selected package) and verify availability, I cannot guarantee the availability of all services or attractions, even if they appear in the itinerary or app. In some cases, bookings may not be confirmed, may be canceled, or may not be available at the required time due to demand, holidays, local regulations, weather conditions, supplier changes, or other reasons beyond my control. In such cases, I will make every effort to find suitable alternatives, but I will not be responsible for any loss, inconvenience, or disappointment caused.
Collaboration – That’s the Name of the Game
To provide professional and efficient service, I lead a team often referred to as the “Mr. Japan Team”- a group of talented individuals who work together to create amazing trips to the Land of the Rising Sun. While communication may sometimes be handled by team members, I oversee the entire process, and all professional decisions are made by me. This document is written in the singular form only for the sake of convenience.
Pricing and Payment Terms
The service fee is calculated, among other things, based on a daily rate, depending on the selected package, the duration of the trip (including minimum chargeable days), and the number of participants, as detailed on the Mr. Japan website from time to time. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is made in full in advance.
In certain cases, and depending on the selected package, I may make advance payments on your behalf for certain services and attractions (including but not limited to transportation tickets, workshops, performances, museums, parks, etc.). For this purpose, a total amount will be collected in advance for all expected services, including an additional 25% buffer to cover changes, uncertainties, or adjustments. After the trip, a final reconciliation will be made based on actual expenses, and a partial refund or additional charge will be applied if necessary. Full calculation details and documentation will be provided transparently. It is clarified that advance payment for these services is a fundamental condition of engagement and is intended to secure availability and ensure a high-quality travel experience.
Changes and Cancellations
In the event of a change to the travel date, any required changes to the itinerary will be subject to an additional fee of 150 USD per hour of work. Additional costs may also apply from third-party suppliers (such as hotels, trains, and attractions) if bookings have already been made on your behalf, subject to applicable consumer protection laws. Extending the duration of the trip will result in a proportional increase in service fees.
After the 60-minute consultation (which includes essential information, Q&A, and adjustments), the itinerary will be considered final. Any further changes or updates will be charged at $150 per hour.
Cancellations are subject to the Israeli Consumer Protection Law, 1981. As part of the service, time and work are invested, and certain services will be considered as already provided and therefore non-refundable. Specifically: $500 for the initial itinerary framework and $250 for the consultation. After delivery of the full itinerary, cancellation is no longer possible—even if the trip itself is canceled for any reason.
I do my work with all my heart, and therefore reserve the right to terminate the engagement unilaterally in cases of inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to:
-
Offensive, abusive, threatening, or disrespectful language
-
Unreasonable demands beyond agreed services
-
Behavior that creates an unpleasant working environment (at my sole discretion)
-
A mismatch between client expectations and the service provided
In such cases, a formal notice will be sent and a full or partial refund will be issued in accordance with applicable law and based on services already provided.

Additional Charges by Third Parties
During trip planning, bookings may be made on your behalf with various providers (e.g., car rental companies, hotels, train operators, etc.). It is agreed that if additional charges are incurred by such providers (e.g., damages, fees, booking changes, penalties, unpaid service costs, etc.), I or my representatives may charge you accordingly, including via the payment method you provided, without prior approval - subject to providing supporting documentation if requested.
Flexible Plans
-
General
-
From time to time, you may be offered the option to join one or more “Flexible Plans” for an additional fee.
-
The purpose of the Flexible Plans is to provide peace of mind. They are ancillary services provided as part of the engagement and do not constitute an insurance policy, insurance product, or any commitment by an insurance provider.
-
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the Flexible Plans may only be used prior to the start of the trip, and do not apply to changes, cancellations, or decisions made during the trip or after it has begun.
-
Use of the Flexible Plans is subject to the conditions detailed below:

Flexible Plan for Planning Services
-
A client who has joined the Flexible Plan for Planning Services will be entitled to request a full re-planning of the itinerary without additional planning fees, solely in the event of an actual change in travel dates.
-
The re-planning will be carried out for a trip of the same scope (number of travel days) as defined in the original itinerary.
-
In the event that the trip duration is extended beyond the original number of days, an additional fee will apply in accordance with the service pricing in effect at the time of the update.
-
This plan does not grant the right to make changes, updates, or re-plan the itinerary for reasons of convenience, preference changes, or any reason other than an actual change in travel dates.
-
The plan applies to planning services only, and does not include changes, cancellations, or refunds for bookings made with third parties, including attractions, transportation, or hotels.
-
Re-planning will be carried out subject to availability, seasonality, supplier conditions, price changes, and destination changes, and may not fully replicate the original itinerary.
-

A client who has joined the Flexible Plan for Bookings will be entitled to have Mr Japan manage the process of changing or canceling bookings made through it, including handling communication with relevant suppliers and covering any associated costs, if applicable.

The plan applies to bookings of attractions, train tickets, transportation, workshops, performances, and similar services only, and does not apply to accommodation or hotel bookings.
-
The plan may be used up to one day prior to the start of the trip only, and does not apply to changes, cancellations, or non-use of services during the trip or after it has begun.
-
The plan does not apply in cases where the client chooses not to use a booking during the trip, fails to attend a service, or changes their mind in real time.
-
