A Bit About Me and the Tour
Hi, my name is Boaz Zairi, and I’ve been living Tokyo and Japan for over 38 years. I’m a chef and geographer, with a Master’s degree in urban planning and currently a PhD candidate in the field. I divide my time between Tokyo and Jerusalem, and I’m married to a Japanese woman. My tours focus on the lesser-known areas of Tokyo, combining history, urban planning, and the city’s development after World War II. We’ll explore the tension and harmony between old and new, tradition and modernization - and understand how all of this shaped Japan’s food culture. My tours include plenty of food tastings - so come hungry! If you have dietary restrictions, please let me know in advance and I’ll find suitable options. I especially enjoy guiding children and teenagers, and I’m also experienced in accessible tours, including routes adapted for mobility needs when required.
