Yurakucho

Wikipedia

Source:

Yūrakuchō (有楽町) is especially known for a lively, hidden complex built beneath the elevated tracks of the Yamanote Line. In Japanese, this area is called Gado-shita, meaning “under the girders.”

The restaurants stretch for several hundred meters both north and south of the station, reaching all the way toward Tokyo Station in the neighboring Marunouchi district.

Most spots are casual izakayas (pubs) and yakitori (grilled skewers) joints - perfect for a cold beer and simple bites. As you move toward the northwest side, you’ll also find more upscale options, including elegant French wine bars, Italian restaurants, and even German beer halls, reflecting the slightly more refined side of Yurakucho.
