The Hakone Tozan Railway is not just a way to get around, it’s part of the experience.
The train slowly climbs through the mountains, passing forests, small stations, and sharp turns as it makes its way up. During hydrangea season in June -July, the tracks are lined with colorful flowers, and in autumn, the foliage makes the whole ride feel even more special.
It’s a relaxed, beautiful ride, and a really nice way to ease into Hakone before the bigger views kick in.
