Shinsekai (新世界) is a retro-style district in Osaka with a nostalgic, old-school atmosphere.

The northern part of Shinsekai was inspired by Paris, while the southern area took cues from Coney Island in New York. Its central landmark, Tsutenkaku Tower, was originally built in 1912, modeled after the Eiffel Tower. Although it was dismantled during World War II, it was rebuilt in 1956. Today, the tower stands at 103 meters, with an observation deck at 91 meters (not the tallest you’ll visit, but still a fun stop). There’s also an open-air deck and even a 60-meter slide.

Shinsekai is also home to Spa World, a large bath complex featuring multiple themed pools. Each floor is designated for a different gender (rotating monthly), and bathing is done nude.
