(大阪城) began construction in 1583.

The castle has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times throughout its history, it was even struck by lightning and burned down in 1665. The current reconstruction dates back to 1931. Remarkably, the castle survived World War II air raids, and in 1997 it underwent a major renovation that gave it the polished appearance it maintains today. The interior is fully modern and even includes an elevator for accessibility.

As expected from a prominent Japanese landmark, the surrounding park is beautifully maintained, featuring wide lawns, around 600 cherry blossom trees, tea spots, and a pleasant guest area. Entry to certain garden areas requires a fee.
