Kawaguchiko Music Forest (河口湖オルゴールの森) is a small theme park and museum dedicated mainly to music boxes, located in the charming town of Kawaguchiko near Mount Fuji.
In the main hall, you’ll find antique music boxes, mechanical organs, and other automated instruments, mostly from Europe. The highlight is a massive French organ from 1905 that takes up almost the entire hall and plays every 30 minutes.
The main building also features a concert hall, where musicians (often classical performers) from around the world give live performances.
Outside, the park is lovely and offers great views of Mount Fuji from many spots. There are scenic walking paths connecting lawns, restaurants, and small shops.
The museum is operated by the Ukai Group, which also runs the glass museum in Hakone - another nice stop if you’re in the area.
