Ginza

Wikipedia

Source:

Ginza (銀座) is Tokyo’s most upscale district for shopping, dining, and entertainment—if you like, the Japanese version of Times Square. The area is packed with department stores, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, nightlife, and cafés.

Real estate here is among the most expensive in Japan, with central plots exceeding 10 million yen per square meter.

Most shops in Ginza are open every day. A particularly nice time to visit is on weekend afternoons, when the main street, Chuo Dori, is closed to traffic and becomes a large pedestrian zone (usually from midday until 18:00, or 17:00 from October to March). That said, it’s worth visiting at any time.
